POETRY BOOK PROJECT: Winter 2020
Hello Friends, welcome to our new creative project!
We are creating an image and poetry experience that will aim to document Detroit in each season. Our goal is to highlight our city through the eyes of people that live here! We hope that what we create is dynamic, full, and multi-faceted.
Step 1: Submissions. We want to hear from you! Your childhood memories, your finest moments, your worst and best dates, the times when it all clicked for you, a time when the city brought you through a hard time, or perhaps a strange moment of nostalgia or deja vu! Tell us your triggered moments, your moments of absolute surprise or grief. When were you inspired to cut your hair, leave your job, or start trying for a child? All stages of life are celebrated and welcome.
Step 2: Poems from your submissions. Jenn will be creating poems that capture your experience. You will be thanked or highlighted in some way on the final product! On the form, you will have the option to put your name, a pseudonym, or keep it anonymous. *we will use creative discretion when it comes to the submissions we use.
Step 3: Images. Brenda will be capturing images that will parallel each poem. She will also use your submission to capture the essence of your story.
Step 4: Printing! We will be printing a book for each season (Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall). Starting with Winter, we will be creating 10-15 poems with complementary images. Fill out the form below to join us in this project!
We can't wait to see what comes in!

*We wanted to be clear that your story will be the inspiration for a poem. Submissions will be used with discretion to the integrity and purpose of the book. However, you may be listed as a contributor with your consent.
